ASICS HS1-S Tarther Blast Misty Pine Midnight Release
For the time being, Kiko Kostadinov is done making direct collaborations with ASICS, but his ties to the Japanese sportswear brand aren’t necessarily cut as he is still tasked to provide design direction on occasion. After leading the way for the UB1-S GEL-KAYANO 14 last year, the Bulgarian designer transitions into 2021 to bring about more silhouettes into fruition, one being this all-new ASICS HS1-S Tarther Blast which is introduced as part of the brand’s “ENGINEERED FOR EVERYDAY” campaign.
Crafted with a bespoke design mentality, the newly revealed model is influenced by that of runners found within the archival and modern day ASICS catalogs. Sporting a visual composition that gears towards a racing aesthetic, the low-profile model features a synthetic leather upper made from recycled scraps and is present for most of the base and the tiger stripes. Alongside this, the tongues are engineered with a breathable mesh, while suede overlays make their way to the throat and heel paneling. Moreover, the toe tip overlays features tiny ventilated holes that come in sets of five on the lateral and medial sides.
Down below the cushioning unit arrives with somewhat of a similar carved-out aesthetic to the ASICS NOVABLAST, and is repleted with FLYTEFOAM BLAST™ to provide a plush ride for those who step foot into them. Aside from the aforementioned stripes, branded hits can be found via ASICS insignias placed atop the tongues, heels and insoles.
On January 29, two inaugural colorways including the “Misty Pine/Piedmont Grey” and the “Midnight/Pure Silver” will launch via ASICS for $120 USD a piece.
Elsewhere within the realm of sneakers, two neutral toned ASICS GEL-LYTE III colorways have recently released.
