Barbie honors fashion designer Vera Wang with a new tribute doll

The new doll is a part of the Tribute Collection that features inspiring women.

Barbie’s latest doll is honoring iconic fashion designer and businesswoman Vera Wang in a beautiful way.

The toymaker has released a new doll reflective of Wang’s image that’s a part of its Tribute collection which features a variety of inspiring women who are shaping culture.

The famed designer thanked Mattel, the maker of Barbie, on Instagram saying that it is an “insane honor” and how proud she is to be part of the brand’s tribute series of women she admires.

The Vera Wang Barbie Doll was created with Wang’s signature long black straight hair, a stylish monochromatic black dress that includes a romper under a chiffon dress with attached puff sleeves, a high front slit and a LOVE logo in white letters near the hem of the dress.

“Born to Chinese immigrants, Vera Wang’s talent and work ethic quickly saw her gain experience alongside the biggest names in fashion, before establishing her own bridalwear boutique,” Barbie captioned a series of photos of the doll.

The post continued, “Now at the head of a fashion and lifestyle empire, Wang has cemented her place as a beacon of creativity, with a lasting impact on fashion for generations to come.”

The exclusive Vera Wang Barbie Doll is available on Mattel’s Creations website for $39.99.

Wang reflected on being asked to participate in Barbie’s Tribute series and feeling completely overwhelmed.

“While it has been an honor for me to have created so many looks for Barbie through the years, from wedding to red carpet, a Barbie in my own likeness is something I never could have imagined,” Wang said in a statement.

She added, “Barbie is the ultimate icon, and she represents all of us, and through the decades, she has continued to evolve, to every changing standard of women while reflecting huge shifts in our society, if not the world. To this day, she remains both relevant and an integral part of our culture, dreams and lives.”

Former figures featured in Barbie’s Tribute collection include Lucille Ball, Queen Elizabeth, and more to come.
